Lot 11. Two archaic bronze 'dragon' finials, Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770-221 BC); 18.5cm (7 1/2in) and 10cm (4in) long. (2). Sold for 2,040 €. Photo Fabrice Gousset.
Each finely cast in the zoomorphic form of a sinuous dragon issuing from a tapering conical shaft, with typical Verdigris and encrustations.
Provenance: Robert Rousset, Paris (1901-1981), acquired prior to 1935.
Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021).
