The vessel fitted with a cylindrical candle holder centring a circular drip pan raised on a ribbed stem rising from a larger drip pan, all raised on a spreading foot and covered overall with a rich amber glaze. 

The result of Oxford thermolumniscence test no.C199j17, dated 6 April 1999, is consistent with the dating of this lot.
