A piece of bone fragment of the Shang dynasty (16th century BCE-11th century BCE. It has part of the so called taotie 饕餮 mask which also appears and decorates archaic ritual bronze vessels of the Shang 商 dynasty as represented in the NGV Chinese collection. The design typically consists of a zoomorphic mask.
