The Zhejiang School and Deng Shiru School of the Qing dynasty were the two seal carving genres that had the most lasting influence on the later generations. Ding Jing was the founder of the Zhejiang School. He was original and innovative in seal script, carving and cutting. His seal works are featured with simple and unadorned layout, quaint carving techniques and honest and dignified seal scripts. ‘Yangzhou Luo Pin’ means the painter and calligrapher Luo Pin in Yangzhou.
