Heavily potted with deep round sides rising from a short straight foot, carved on the exterior with a band of overlapping petals, covered overall with a brownish-celadon glaze, the foot ring unglazed showing the buff body, Japanese wood box.

Note: The term 'beishoku' celadon ('rice husk colored' celadon) was coined by Japanese connoisseurs in the 20th century to describe the rare and unusual golden beige color glaze resulting from oxidization during firing.
