BIRMINGHAM, UK.- The Barber Institute of Fine Arts at University of Birmingham presents The Currency of Femininity: Women on Coins, on view through January 17, 2008. The stories of twelve extraordinary women of immense power and influence — goddesses, regents, and empresses — lie behind this display, drawn from the Barber’s collection of some 16,000 coins.
