This fall, Steinitz is causing some rumblings among French antique dealers, by consigning to Christie's an estimated $10 million worth of antique furniture and art objects to be sold in New York, Paris and London. The 600 or so lots earmarked for the sales come from both the Steinitz gallery and its former warehouse, recently sold, in Saint-Ouen, near the famed Paris flea market. The lots consist mainly of 18th- and 19th-century European furniture and artworks, collected and stored over the past 20 years...
