China - Yuan Dynasty - wood - 21.5in. (55cms).

A fine Chinese wood sculpture of the Boddhisattva Guanyin seated in relaxed pose, head leaning to the right, her right arm resting on her raised right knee, her face with serene expression. With original painted green and red decoration. The left arm and leg are detachable. Yuan dynasty, circa 13th/14th century.
