Footnote: Paul Dupre-Lafon was born in Marseille in 1900. After graduating from college as an architect and decorator, he designed his first piece of furniture in 1925 and in 1929 began his work with Hermès. It was to prove a very successful partnership, with a number of cleverly designed items produced that combined function with superb design detailing.
