A large gilt dry lacquer Buddhist image - China 18th Century

Depicting a luohan in monastic robes and seated in a pose of meditation, the hands of the Buddhist 'saint' exhibiting a modified vitarka mudra, the serene face with downcast eyes and features heightened with black and red pigment accents, the reverse with a small sealed compartment to the center of the back (losses to gilt). 28in (71.1cm) high - Sold for $9,000 plus Premium and tax
