A yellow jade covered vase - 19th Century
Of ovoid section and flattened hu shape with animal mask and loose ring handles at the waisted neck and with lappet, taotie and jeweled lotus petal bands in delicate raised relief encircling the body supported on a spreading foot, an ovoid finial finishing the domical cover; the subtly polished yellow-green matrix displaying contrasting russet patches and pale brown veins with with some surface hairline fissures and a few pin-point black inclusions (minor chips). 8 3/4in (22cm) high - Estimate: $5,000 - 7,000 - Unsold
