The bulbous body painted with a wide band of leafy lotus scroll set between a band of overlapping petals below and a ruyiborder above, with a band of classic scroll encircling the waist and peony scroll on the upper body that tapers towards bands of pendent trefoils and key fret just below the rim, all in soft shades of crushed-strawberry red; 13 in. (33 cm.) high. Estimate $30,000 - $50,000 - Price Realized $86,500
Provenance: Sir William Cornelius Van Horne (1843-1915), and thence by descent within the family.
