The spherical lapis case divided by bands of gold, spaced by continuous gold circles, accented by triangle-shaped mother-of-pearl inlay, centering a circular engine-turned silver-tone dial with black Roman numerals, gold hands and railroad minute track, with gold bezel accented by 10 inlaid mother-of-pearl squares, round 8-day movement, push button activated time set and rotating bezel winding mechanism, the clock supported by three carved Egyptian-style nephrite jade owls with rose-cut diamond eyes, atop a modified hexagonal-shaped lapis base with gold and mother-of-pearl accents, backed by a silver panel, dial signed Cartier, France, caseno. 1188 526, movement signed Couet, circa 1925, crystal missing, 2 mother-of-pearls missing. 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. The movement is currently running, but not guaranteed to be in working order. 7 mother-of-pearl missing & several chipped. Estimate $20,000-30,000
