deftly carved in the round as a seated beast supported on four paws, leaning forward with bulging alert eyes framed by furrowed brows, between flattened ears and a clenched mouth bearing sharp fangs, its strong-muscled back defined by a pronounced curve terminating at a sinuous tail, the stone of an even celadon tone accented with a patch of russet skin to the head; 8.8 cm., 3 3/8 in.
