This large and flat ceramic bowl comes from Afghanistan and was fabricated in the 11th or 12th century. It consists of earthenware, a light red body, and is coated with a bright, yellowish slip. The composition is completed by an incised decoration with beautiful bird representation in the middle and a green ‘splashed’ décor. The ceramic bowl shows several restored cracks, edges and glaze are slightly chipped in places; apart form that the ceramic bowl is in a good state of preservation. The diameter of the bowl is 36 cm, and the height is 7 cm.
