The globular body of the vase is painted in vibrant shades of cobalt blue with a composite foliate scroll, above a band of petal lappets and a classic scroll encircling the foot. The shoulder has a ruyi border below another foliate scroll, and the neck has a key-fret border below stiff upright plantain leaves. There is a band of waves above a further band of ruyi at the flaring mouth.
