The bowl is of fine and pure white clay with uniform glaze. The design is in red color and under glaze. Rim and stem are decorated with Huiwen designs and both the inside and outside are decorated with interlocking flower and leaf patterns.
The Hongwu Period is the period of the Hongwu Emperor (October 21, 1328 – June 24, 1398), also known by his given name Zhu Yuanzhang. He was the founder and first emperor (1368–98) of the Ming Dynasty of China.
