HONG KONG.- Sotheby’sHong Kong Autumn Sales 2015 will take place from 3 to 7 October at Hall 3, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Exceptional objects encompassing Chinese Works of Art, Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, Fine Chinese Paintings, Contemporary Ink Art, Modern Asian Art, Contemporary Asian Art, Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, Jewellery, Watches and Wines will be offered.

Modern and Contemporary Asian Art evening Sale, 4th of October 
This auction presents a series of monumental works of Modern and Contemporary Asian art, highlighted by works by Chen Cheng-Po, T’ing Yin-Yung, Hendra Gunawan and Miguel Covarrubias. Modern Asian Art day sale, 5th October 
The Modern Asian Art Day Sale features T’ing Yin-Yung as the cover lot. Two special series, entitled ‘National School of Art’ and ‘Central Academy of Craft Art’, will be presented, illustrating the trajectory of Modern Chinese art. Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, 5th of October 
This autumn, Sotheby’s will launch its first dedicated sale of classical Chinese paintings in Asia for more than a decade, adding to its existing sales of the category in New York. The sale showcases more than 50 paintings and works of calligraphy, featuring rarified works from masters of the Song / Yuan to Qing dynasties.

Contemporary Ink Art, 5th of October 
Contemporary Ink Art showcases diverse stylistic approaches to ink as a primary art medium by established painters whose 20th-Century innovations transformed the medium, merging traditional Asian philosophies with modern perspectives. Fine Chinese Paintings, 6th of October 
The sale offers works by leading modern Chinese artists including Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, Huang Binhong, Xu Beihong and Wu Guanzhong, many of which were attested by prominent exhibition history. Highlights include an assemblage of paintings by acclaimed Guangdong artists including ‘Lingnan School’ founders Gao Jianfu and Gao Qifeng; as well as calligraphy works by late Qing officials and distinguished epigraphy scholars from late Qing to the early 20th century.

Chinese Works of Art, 7th of October 
Imperial Consort 
The sale consists of three exquisite Imperial court portraits, including an exceptionally rare large Imperial portrait of Consort Chunhui by Giuseppe Castiglione, the only known official portrait of this grand size outside of the Beijing Palace Museum. The inscription of her posthumous name is by the Qianlong Emperor himself, indicating her favoured position among the palace ladies.

Vajrayana 
The sale represents the personal journey of a collector inspired by the evolution of Buddhist sculpture in the Vajrayana tradition, the esoteric path to enlightenment. Originating in seventh-Century Kashmir and ranging across the vast Himalayan plateau through Nepal, Tibet and finally Qing dynasty China, each of the figures is unique, endowed with the individual spirit under which it was commissioned for the original tantric practitioner.

mperial Interiors 
The sale consists of eight outstanding works of art commissioned for the decoration of the inner rooms of Imperial palaces, and represents some of the finest quality Imperial Qing dynasty workmanship ever to appear on the private market. Highlights include a truly magnificent twelve-panel inlaid lacquer screen. Decorated with a theme of an Imperial hunt, it is preserved in unusually good condition and is the counterpart to the famous example in the Ca’Pesaro Oriental Museum, Venice.

Important Chinese Works of Art 
The Important Chinese Works of Art auction is a tightly curated assemblage of fine and rare porcelain and works of art with a particular focus on the Ming and Qing dynasties. Highlights include an outstanding blue and white brushwasher from the Xuande period (1426 – 35), formerly in the collection of Mrs Alfred Clark, painted with a fish pond design in brilliant tones of underglazeblue; and a superb Yongzheng ‘peach’ bowl from the collection of Alan Chuang, originally in the Edward T Chow collection.
