A Magnificent Imperial Blue-Glazed Hexagonal Vase with Four Dragon Handles, Mark and Period of Yongzheng, 1723 - 1735.  Estimate: HK$ 4,000,000 - 6,000,000 (US$ 512,800 - 769,200). Photo Poly Auction.

This special hexagonal vase is well potted and rises steeply from a flared, wide foot to form bulbous body and sharp shoulders while the neck is slightly waisted and flanked by four dragon-like handles, covered overall with an unctuous pale sky-blue glaze. The unglazed foot rim is covered with a dark brown dressing. The base is inscribed by a six-character seal mark which is relatively rare but would have another example with comparable writing style found in Beijing Palace Museum illustrated in Monochrome Porcelain, "The Complete Collection of Treasures from the Palace Museum", Hong Kong: The Commercial Press, 1999, p. 100, no. 92. H 20.2 cm. D 18.5 cm.
