the shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted rim, brightly decorated to the interior with a medallion enclosing a pair of birds perched upon a prunus tree issuing from rockwork, encircled by large lotus lappet panels variously enclosing antiques, birds, insects and landscapes reserved on a foliate scroll green ground, the rim with quatrefoil panels enclosing mythical beasts and fish reserved on an iron-red reverse decorated foliate band, the exterior with a simple band of lotus strapwork; 45 cm, 17 3/4 in.
