the baluster body rising from a countersunk base to a broad rounded shoulder and surmounted by a short tapering neck, the exterior incised with undulating scrolls issuing lotus blooms and curling leaves, above an upright lappet border encircling the foot, applied evenly overall with an unctuous and opaque 'sweet-white' glaze
