A blue and white ‘Three Friends’ gu-form vase, Qing dynasty, 17th-18th century

Lot 126. A blue and white ‘Three Friends’ gu-form vase, Qing dynasty, 17th-18th century, 15 in. (38.2 cm.) high, Japanese wood box.  Estimate HKD 70,000 - HKD 90,000 (USD 9,048 - USD 11,634). Price realised HKD 106,250 (USD 13,733) © Christie's Imags Ltd 2017.

The vase is decorated to the globular body in vibrant cobalt blue with a continuous scene depicting the ‘three friends of winter’, including pine trees, prunus and bamboo. This is similarly decorated on the wide flaring neck.
