Lot 29. An opaque blue glass 'lotus' censer, Qianlong four-character incised mark within a double square and of the period (1736-1795), 3 7/8 in. (10 cm.) wide across the handles. Estimate GBP 10,000 - GBP 15,000 (USD 12,950 - USD 19,425). Price realised GBP 11,250 (USD 14,558). © Christie's Images Ltd 2017

The bombé-form censer is decorated with two everted loop handles to the rim. The body is finely carved with three layers of overlapping lotus petals.

NoteCompare this lot with a slightly smaller example from the collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth, illustrated in Clear as Crystal, Red as Flame: Later Chinese Glass, New York, 1990, no. 34.
