elegantly potted with curved sides gently rising to a rounded shoulder, surmounted by a short waisted neck and slightly everted rim, deftly painted in the Ming style with three phoenix in different postures, flying amongst blossoming branches of hibiscus, between further hibiscus scrolls at the shoulder and pendant plantain leaves above the foot, the copper-red of a bright burgundy tone.
