White Jade Tripod Ewer and Cover, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Mark and Period (1736-1795)
White Jade Tripod Ewer and Cover, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Mark and Period (1736-1795).
National Palace Museum, Taipei.
The shape is imitated from the Shang and Zhou bronze wine vessels "Zhi". The shape of a long-necked animal, the shape of a bird looking back, the round belly connected to the crotch-shaped bottom, and the top cover of a dragon are highly decorative. The outer edge of the mouth is incised with a single line of official inscription "Qianlong Antique Period of the Qing Dynasty".
