the substantial grey jade mottled with dark speckles and highlighted with light russet skin, skilfully worked as an oval vessel with sloping sides rising to a broad shoulder and an incurved rim, the exterior decorated in varying levels of relief with three ferocious dragons soaring amidst dense clusters of lingzhi-shaped clouds, two mythical beasts rendered confronting each other and flanking a 'flaming pearl', the base exquisitely worked as thin curling lappets of tempestuous waves radiating from a swirling centre, two jagged outcrops rendered emerging from the turbulent waves, wood stand; 19.4 cm, 7 5/8  in.
