Note: Mr Tse Siu Bong (1924-2017) was a founding member of The Kau Chi Society, Hong Kong. His private study, known to a select few as the Zhongyong Caotang, reflected his modest nature. Renowned for his generosity and broad interests, Mr Tse built an extensive porcelain collection spanning 5,000 years, featuring pieces from numerous kilns across northern and southern China. He valued the historical and cultural significance of these artefacts far above their commercial worth, driven by a desire to showcase the rich lineage of Chinese ceramics.

Mr. Xie Zhaobang (1924-2017) was one of the founding members of the renowned Hong Kong collectors' group, Qiuzhi Yaji. He privately named his studio "Zhongyong Caotang," a name little known to outsiders. Mr. Xie was a philanthropist with extremely broad collecting interests. His porcelain collection spanned five thousand years, including numerous kilns from both the north and south of China. His collection was not based on commercial value but aimed to present a complete picture of the Chinese ceramic lineage.
