A fine zitan and mixed wood altar table (qiaotou'an) - Early 19th Century
Of typical mitered mortoise-and tennon frame construction, the two board panel top possibly of hongmu, tongue and grooved into the inside of the frame, over an elegant apron carved with a gallery of lotus petals over an elaborate network of clouds surrounding wufu in flight, the design extending over the hipped supports and accented by occasional c-comma swirls, the plain legs ending in c-scroll terminals (wear). 36 7/8 x 76 1/4 x 20 3/8in (93.5 x 193.5 x 51.5cm) - Sold for $140,000 plus Premium and tax
