A Yaozhou celadon glazed stoneware deep bowl - Late Northern Song Dynasty

The evenly toned celadon glaze covering all surfaces except the bottom of the foot rim, and serving to accentuate the crisply carved interior with a design of a freely rendered lotus set within an ogival reserve surrounded by a ring of vegetal scrolls, the exterior rim finished with a grooved band. 7 1/2in (19cm) diameter - Estimate: $4,000 - 6,000 - Unsold.
