Emmanuel Berry, « les oiseaux de Sens » à la galerie PHOTO4
Emmanuel Berry, blackbird, gelatin silver print, 40 x 50 cm, 2006, Ed. 10 ex
PARIS.-After his exhibition at the Museum of Natural History in Paris in 2006, and several others throughout France, his large photographs from the series « les oiseaux de Sens » (the birds from Sens) will be back in February 2008 to where they first were, in the Orangerie du Musée de Sens. PHOTO4 Gallery will show during the same period, smaller prints, (40 x 50 cm), as well as unreleased photographs from the same series.
"Since the beginning, long time ago, I saw those pictures coming deep inside my soul. I now do believe in this game that photographs create when we are facing them, unable to know on which side of the mirror we stand.
I came across the « Oiseaux de Sens », kind of blind animals. The gesture was easy and controlled : create photographs portraits, enlarge them as a painting that would once again make us feel observed by what is left of ourselves". Emmanuel Berry.
