Another Zhengde white-glazed brushwasher from the Eumorfopoulos, Cunliffe and T. Y. Chao collections was sold in our London rooms, 30^th May 1940, lot 315, and in Hong Kong, 20^th May 1980, lot 60, and again, 19^th May 1987, lot 251.

A washer of this form is illustrated in the sixth Guwan tu (Pictorial Scroll of Antiquities), of the Imperial Collection of the Yongzheng emperor, dated to the sixth year of his reign, equivalent to A. D. 1728, given by the Empress Dowager Cixi to Colonel A. H. Moorhead, I.M.S., sold in our London room, 19^th May 1939, lot 62, and now in the Percival David Foundation, London.
