A finely carved rhinoceros horn libation cup, 18th century

The sides well carved in relief and undercut with a river landscape where two scholars and attendants are journeying in a boat on the rippled waters of the river, with pavilions and temples nestled amidst rocks and trees, the pine bough of one of the trees forming the handle at one end and continuing over the edge into the rock-carved interior, the horn of dark color. 6¼ in. (15.8 cm.) long
