Footnote: The silver gilt tazza filled with fruit within a stone niche is a motif often used by Borman, as can be seen in the signed work in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Ghent. The present painting may be compared with the signed work offered at Lempertz Auktions Cologne, 24 November 1971, lot 15.
