Oval porcelain perfume casket in the form of a basket with pierced sides and lid, and bamboo handle (ti liang) with two supporting branches on either side of the handle. The casket has a white body. There are flowers between borders of keyfret and volute in on-biscuit enamel on the exterior. Height: 135 millimetres.

Note: Early Qing enamels fire as thin, translucent watercolour-like colours, dominated by green, black, aubergine, red and yellow pigments. Albert Jacquemart (AD 1808–1875) coined the terms famille verte in his Histoire de la céramique published in 1873, to describe this palette dominated by shades of green.
