each with rounded sides rising from a short foot, the interior incised with four large peaches borne on gnarled leafy blossoms within a double circle, covered overall with a yellow glaze with a slightly iridescent sheen leaving the base white, the base inscribed with a six-character Yongzheng mark within a double circle. The Cartwright collection of Qing monochrome wares

Note: This charming pair of dishes is notable for their delicately incised auspicious design of fruiting and flowering peaches. A closely related example is illustrated in Ulrich Wiesner, Chinesisches Porzellan, Mainz am Rhein, 1981, pl. 103; one from the collection of K.W. Woollcombe-Boyce was sold twice in our Hong Kong rooms, 29th November 1977, lot 114, and 3rd May 1994, lot 75; another was also sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 31st October 1995, lot 427; and a fourth example, from the collection of E.T. Hall, was sold at Christie's London, 7th June 2004, lot 81.
