Balenciaga often favored the striking contrast of black and white for his eveningwear designs. The graphic impact of this ensemble is created by white fur trim that delineates curved lines and a sharp point. The “cocoon” jacket envelops the upper body and when it is removed, the halter neckline and low-cut back of the dress are revealed.
