rising to an indented mouth, resist-decorated with a leaf against a brown-black glaze, the unglazed foot revealing the buff body; the second bowl with a groove to the interior around the mouth, decorated with florets and other motifs reserved in rich dark brown against a speckled toffee-brown ground, irregularly splashed on the exterior with a buff-coloured glaze in imitation of tortoiseshell, the glaze falling short to reveal the buff body; 11.3 and 11.2 cm, 4 1/2  in and 4 3/8  in.
