The elegantly proportioned, tapering body carved around the midsection with two bands of archaistic dragon scroll, the interior rim with a key-fret band, one end with six sinuous chilong forming the handle and peering over the rim, the front with another chilong, the interior of the foot carved with a seal reading, Hu Xingyue zhi, the material of a warm walnut tone.
Provenance: From the collection of Ethel Gunton Douglas, acquired in the 1920s-30s.
