Lot No: 27. A roiro lacquer four-case inro by Chohei(sai) with manju by Kanshosai, 19th century
One side decorated with two skeletons inlaid in shiro-nuri coming to life beside a grave post beneath the crescent moon, the reverse with a crab lying among clam shells and seaplants, rendered in red and gold takamakie and pottery, signed Chohei with seal Heisai, with wood two-part manju decorated with a human skull, signed Kanshosai with kakihan, wood box. 7.6cm (3in).
