LONDON.- Christie’s announce the evening sale of Important Old Master and British Pictures in London on 6 December 2007, which is highlighted by Important Old Master Pictures from the Collection of Anton Philips, and led by Two studies of a young man by Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) (estimate: £4,000,000-6,000,000). Also offering a diverse offering of Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian and Spanish pictures, many of which are being offered at auction for the first time in centuries, the sale is expected to realise in the region of £30 million. The auction builds on the success of the sale of Important Old Master and British Pictures in London in July which realised £41.5 million / $83.7 million, and saw Raphael’s portrait of Lorenzo de’ Medici realise a record £18.5 million / 37.3 million.
