Glazed on the upper side in electroplated gold leaf, the palm finished in black with red and yellow painted wire detail running from the palm base to fingers, the glove with fastening at the wrist -- made for Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, mounted in custom made plexiglass display case with a publicity photograph of Anthony Daniels as C-3PO signed and inscribed in gold ink With Force!, Anthony Daniels, C.3PO; accompanied by a magazine, Lucasfilm Fanclub, Issue 7, Spring, 1989 in which the hand is advertised in the listings at the back, Own C-3PO's Hand!....here's your chance at owning the actual gold hand of C-3PO used in Star Wars! Notes : The magazine listing states that this hand was donated by George Lucas to the Friends of the Joffrey Ballet. The advertisemet invited readers to offer sealed bids, the minimum to be $3,500, and the hand to be sent to the highest bidder.
According to Lucasfilm Archives, it is suggested that this "hand" was made for Return of the Jedi, but was probably not screen used as evidenced by its excellent condition.
