A Longquan celadon figural covered censer - Ming Dynasty

Thickly modeled as a reticulated mountain side with shallow interior cup fronted by a depiction of the Song calligrapher/painter Mi Fei watching a servant wash the trunks of leafy wutong trees, the pierced cover modeled as a mountain peak rising behind the sun and clouds, the olive green glaze covering most surfaces and the exposed fabric burnt a dark cinnamon brown in places (chips, small losses, old repairs).
