The split front roundel possibly removed from an official's satin surcoat (gunfu), displaying a front facing five-clawed dragon rendered in couched threads wrapped in gold leaf amid churning waves and ruyi-shaped clouds with auspicious bats and wanzi upon a navy blue ground, now framed and glazed. 11 1/2in (29cm) diameter of roundel. Sold for US$1,500
