Porcelain, enriched in colours and in gilt. Tea bowl with two rust-red rings, above which runs a band of figural scenes upon a grass base. The inner edge contains a gold lace border and the ground a purple scene of Chinese figures. Saucer with corresponding gold border and two rust-red rings around the center, framing a scene with three Chinese figures. Verso with indian flowers. Height 4,5cm/ + 13,5cm. Condition A/B. Gold on the inner surface of the tea bowl slightly rubbed. 
Both pieces with crossed swords mark, gold painter's number 38, slightly rubbed. Tea bowl with dreher's mark "S", saucer with / and + (presumably for Andreas Schiefer, 1726-1761) and the press number 2. Estimation : 1 500 / 1 700 €

The scenes shown in the tea bowl can be found almost in their entirety in the Schulz-Codex on the upper part of folio 96. Beginning with the seated Chinese child on a columb with flying insects, to the standing figure with their back to the viewer, the kneeling figure with the small dog and the figure with the box and child in front of a large basket.
Most aspects of the scene from the saucer can be found on folio 99 of the Schulz-Codex in the upper left. This shows the sitting Chinese figure, the standing figure with a parasol and the utensils in the background.
