carved around the exterior with a scene of a mountainous riverscape, depicting a figure in a small boat and a dog in front of a pavilion, the foreground carved with pine trees and gnarled trunks forming the handle, the interior carved in high relief with three chilong, the horn a dark reddish brown color bearing a signature under the rim Wenshu Zhi.
Provenance: Acquired in the early 20th century by American missionaries in China and thence by descent.
