Each set with a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire weighing 32.47 and 36.80 carats respectively, accented with tapered baguette diamonds. Estimate: 455,000 – 725,000 CHF
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 67244 and Gübelin report no. 13040146/1 & 2, each stating that the sapphires are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, the SSEF and Gübelin reports each with an appendix letter expressing the rarity of these sapphires.
"The described two sapphires not only exhibit an impressive size and weight of 36.808 ct and 32.471 ct respectively, but are highly matched in their well-saturated blue colour and their attractive shape and cutting style... Their saturated blue colour is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in these gemstones, typical and characteristic for the finest sapphires of Mogok, Burma... Assembling a matched pair of natural sapphires from Burma of this size and quality is very rare and exceptional", SSEF appendix letter, 13 March 2013.
