Un nouveau record mondial pour une vente de Haute Joaillerie a été réalisé avec la vente « Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels » de Sotheby’s Genève, en atteignant la somme de 175.097.419 m $ /  171.018.625m CHF, éclipsant ainsi le dernier record de 160,9m $ (149,9m CHF) établi par Sotheby’s lors de sa vente de printemps à Genève en mai 2015.

La vente a été menée par le spectaculaire diamant « Unique Pink », un rare et magnifique diamant rose poire « Fancy Vivid Pink » pesant 15,38 carats, qui a trouvé preneur pour un montant exceptionnel de 31.561.200 $ / 30.826.000 CHF (prix par carat : 2.052.094).

La couleur est tout simplement surprenante, et au vu de sa taille, il est selon mon expérience véritablement unique. Avec cette vente, nous nous sommes fixés pour objectif de rassembler des pièces qui parleraient aux collectionneurs d’aujourd’hui, et la réponse a été phénoménale – confirmant, si besoin était, que lorsqu’on propose des objets d’exception, la demande demeure aussi forte que jamais. Cette vente a rassemblé une parfaite alliance de superbes pierres précieuses et de bijoux, dont la vaste majorité provenait de collections privées.»
