A richly gilt figure of Buddha
Ming Dynasty, possibly late 14th/15th century. Seated impassively with legs crossed on a high dark-patinated bronze rockwork cluster rising from breaking waves, the left hand upturned, the right hand resting on his knee holding a vajra, his robes crisply cast with floral bands along the edges, and an eternity symbol on his plain chest. 28cm (11in) high.- Estimate: £12,000 - 18,000
