Movement No.406420, elaborate case by Verger Frères, 1920's, Retailed by Osterag, Paris. 15-jewel 8-day movement with 5 adjustments signed Vacheron and Constantin and numbered 406420, the silver case set with black lacquer and gold detailing, accented by pierced diamond-set panels on the top and bottom of the case, orange enamel dial hand-painted with a spring blossom tree, diamond-set stylised Arabic numerals, fine pierced diamond set hands, accompanied on either side with a phoenix intricately carved from malachite and mounted on a smoked agate base with onyx pad feet, the inside door signed Ostertag, France. 32cm x 29cm x 10cm. Sold for HK$1,400,000 plus Premium and tax
