A pair of Japanese lacquer boxes. Meiji period
Of rectangular form with slightly domed covers, both applied in relief with birds flying above a flowering prunus tree, one with a figure standing beneath the tree, the nashiji ground to the sides with circular mon motifs. 8.5cm x 7.5cm x 4cm (some damage).
